What You Need First (Quick Setup Checklist)

Barely anything, which is part of the appeal. A few choices do change how good it feels, though:
- Something soft with a bit of give, a plump pillow, a firm couch cushion, a folded blanket. A thin, flat pillow is the one thing that won’t work; you want something you can fold or bunch into a ridge.
- A smooth cover, a satin or silk pillowcase, or a fleece blanket thrown over the top. It glides instead of dragging, and that one detail is the difference between a decent grind and a great one.
- Underwear, or not, grinding over your underwear feels fantastic, muffles the noise, catches the mess, and makes it harder to finish before you mean to. Bare is more intense and more likely to chafe. Your call.
- A towel, if you’re going bare or planning to leak, lay one down. You’ll thank yourself.
- Time and a locked door. A proper session isn’t a two-minute job.
- Water within reach if you’re settling in for a while. You warm up.
